Nalini Campillo completed her training in Diabetology and internal medicine at Iberoamerican University, UNIBE, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Surgical Techniques and wound care training at Podiatry Institute, Puerto Rico. Professor of the national residence of endocrinology and nutrition, the internship cycle of the faculty of medicine at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo, Intec and University Unibe. She founded in 2008 a specialized Diabetic Foot Unit in Plaza de la Salud General Hospital developing clinical assistance, free continuing education for doctors and nurses and research on diabetic foot problems. Coordinator of The diabetic foot group in Latin American diabetes association, (ALAD) and Professor of the International Faculty for the Implementation of The first pilot projects: Train The Foot Trainers (TtFT) courses held in the South and Central America (SACA) region since December 2012 and in the Caribbean Region in June 2013. She was vice-president for 4 years of the DFoot International and is currently the Regional Chair of the Saca region. She participated as an external expert in 2 editions of the International Consensus on the Diabetic Foot. In November 2020 she received the DFoot International Board commendation Award, for her unconditional support for Dfoot International projects, which she continues to develop throughout the Saca region and the Caribbean.
