Associate Professor in Internal Medicine in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes (MEND), at the University of Michigan Medical School. She founded the podiatry program at the University of Michigan in 2006.  The program continues to grow and now houses a fellowship training program that specializes in research, limb preservation, wound care and diabetes related lower extremity complications.  She has experience in successfully working with multi-disciplinary teams to construct research projects and programs that combine both technology, basic science and clinical care.  She has served in several leadership roles for the American Podiatric Medical Association, including chair of Health care disparities and the Public Health and Preventative medicine committees.  She has served as the chair for the foot program and session planning for both the American Diabetes Association’s Annual Scientific Meeting and the International Diabetes Federation Conference. Her research interest and grant funding is in diabetic foot with an emphasis in wound healing and Charcot neuroarthropathy.
