Podiatrist

Pam Chen is a podiatrist and a credentialed wound clinician with the Royal Hobart Hospital. She is also an early career researcher, due to complete her PhD with the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania in 2021. Pam is passionate about preventing and managing lower limb complications and works across acute tertiary, community health and private practice settings. Her research is focused on health literacy and its potential in improving diabetic foot ulcer prevention, and in her short research career has been awarded over $44,000 in competitive grant funding.

Pam is the current President of the Advanced Practicing Podiatrists – High Risk Foot Group in Australia and co-chair of the Lower Amputation Extremity Prevention (LEAP) conferences in both 2018 and 2020. She has also more recently been involved in the 2021 Australian evidence-based guidelines for diabetes-related foot disease as the Secretary of the Wound Healing chapter.
