Dr. Robert Bem
Dr. Bem is diabetologist and endocrinologist at Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague. Dr. Bem holds a Masters of Health Care Administration and PhD from the Charles University. He is a head of outpatient Diabetes Clinic and Foot Clinic at IKEM and past chairman of Podiatric section of the Czech Diabetes Association and he is a member of the Executive Board of the Technology section of Czech Diabetes Asociation.
Dr. Bem‘s research is focused on Charcot foot, diabetic foot infection and new approaches in the treatment of diabetic foot.
Dr. Bem has produced more than thirty peer-reviewed research papers, he is a founder of PoDIAtrie online. He is a holder of the first prize for the best oral presentation on Diabetic Foot Study Group Meeting in 2010 and he also received awards from the Czech Diabetes Society for the best international publication in 2006 and 2010. He was a member of the team awarded by Discovery Award 2013 (Stem cells in the treatment of patients with diabetes and critical limb ischaemia).
