Nobuyoshi Azuma is a vascular surgeon, researching wound healing after revascularization. He is principle investigator of SPINACH registry, a multicenter prospective clinical study that was the first to use the WIfI classification, and suggested revascularization options during the diabetic era. Nobuyoshi Azuma was former Council member of World Federation of Vascular Surgery, and one of authors of Global Vascular Guidelines. He is now writing Japanese guidelines for clinical practice of peripheral arterial disease. Nobuyoshi Azuma is a vice president of International Union of Angiology, and also a director of Japanese Society for Vascular Surgery, and Japanese Society for Foot Care and Podiatric Medicine.
