Virginie Blanchette is an associate professor at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Canada, and a researcher at VITAM: Centre for Sustainable Health Research. Trained as a podiatrist, team approach to limb preservation and as a scientist in implementation science and knowledge mobilization, her research program focuses on the prevention and management of diabetic foot complications and overall foot health, using sustainable health and knowledge mobilization approaches.
She is a junior researcher funded by the Québec Health Research Fund (FRQS) for her research program on diabetic foot screening in primary care, with a focus on foot health knowledge mobilization regarding offloading and education—particularly through shared decision-making and meaningful patient and public involvement using sustainable health approaches.
Dedicated to improving foot health practices for all, including populations in the context of vulnerability, she collaborates with various national and international groups and associations to develop clinical practice guidelines, competency and support the implementation of practical and accessible solutions in partnership with diverse stakeholders.
